Examination and Grading

Examinations

The regular examinations are the midterm and final examinations. Students must take them online.

Examination Term

  • Midterm examination is on the eighth week, and the final examination is on the fifteenth week of each semester.
  • Assignments may be substituted for an examination by the lecture management plan of the professor in charge of each subject.
  • In the online classroom of each subject, students take exams after checking the evaluation plan and test type of each subject, such as online exams, assignments, and others (practice).

Cheating

Sharing student IDs and passwords, proxy attendance, sharing test answers, leaving the test screen during the test, and using special keys (Ctrl, Alt, Window key, etc.) are strictly prohibited.

Grading

  • Academic scores are evaluated on a 100-point scale by a combination of online exam scores (midterm/final), attendance, assignments, discussions, team projects, quizzes, and participation in learning (Q&A, library), and weight for each is based on the evaluation plan of the curriculum.
  • Grades are based on relative evaluations (grade curves), except for some special courses.
  • Students must participate in 75% or more of all the lectures for a given class. Additionally, students must complete at least two of the following: the mid-term examination, the final examination, and an assignment.
  • Special subjects such as practice and training have separate evaluation criteria.

Point 4.5 4.0 3.5 3.0 2.5 2.0 1.5 1.0 0.0

Grade Objections

  • In case of grade disagreement, students may request the professor of the class to make a grade correction during the fixed application period for grade objection. If the complaint is deemed valid, the grade may be corrected.
  • After the application period for grade objection, grades are final, and correction is impossible.

Class Failure

  • A student will receive an F for the class regardless of other scores if the student fails to participate in a minimum of 75% of all the lectures of a given class.
  • A student will also receive an F for the class regardless of scores if the student does not complete two or more of the following: the mid-term examination, final examination, and/or an assignment.

Academic Warning

An academic warning is given if a student’s GPA is less than 1.50 in a given semester. If the student receives four consecutive warnings, the student will be expelled.
