Examination and Grading

Examinations

The regular examinations are the midterm and final examinations and students must take them online.

Examination Term

  • Midterm examination is on the eighth week and final examination is on the fifteenth week of each semester.
  • Assignments may be substituted for an examination in accordance with the lecture management plan of the professor in charge of each subject.
  • In the online classroom of each subject, students take exams after checking the evaluation plan and test type of each subject such as online exams, assignments, and others (practice).

Cheating

Sharing of student IDs and passwords, proxy attendance, sharing test answers, leaving the test screen during the test and using special keys (Ctrl, Alt, Window key, etc.) are strictly prohibited.

Grading

  • Academic scores are evaluated on a 100-point scale by a combination of online exam scores (midterm/final), attendance, assignments, discussions, team projects, quizzes and participation in learning (Q&A, library) and weight for each is based on the evaluation plan of the curriculum.
  • Grades are based on relative evaluations (grade curve) with the exception of some special courses.
  • Students are required to participate in 75% or more of all the lectures for a given class. Additionally students must complete at least two of the following: the mid-term examination, final examination and/or an assignment.
  • Special subjects such as practice and training have separate evaluation criteria.

Grade Objections

  • In case of disagreement regarding grades, students may request the professor of the class to a make a grade correction during the fixed period of application for grade objection, and if the objection is deemed valid, the grade may be corrected.
  • After the application period for grade objection, grades are final and correction is not possible.

Class Failure

  • A student will receive an F for the class regardless of other scores if the student fails to participate in a minimum of 75% of all the lectures of a given class.
  • A student will also receive an F for the class regardless of scores if the student does not complete two or more of the following:the mid-term examination, final examination and/or an assignment.

Academic Warning

If a student’s GPA is less than 1.50 in given semester an academic warning is given. If the student receives 4 consecutive warnings the student will be expelled.
